Breaking Down Barriers National Summit
State and Local Planning Tool

1. What are the five most pressing issues impeding access to child care and early education for young children in immigrant families in your state?

    2. What data has your state/agency gathered to understand how changing demographics are impacting child care and early education?

      3. What data would you like to have?

        4. Brainstorm five immigrant serving organizations that your state should reach out to.  Do these represent a range of immigrant groups?  Are any of them already providing child care and early education services?  Why or why not?  How could you increase collaborations with these groups?

        5. What has your state or agency done to address language access?  Who is responsible for it?

        6. What policy solutions would you like to have put in place to address each of these issues in your state?

        7. How can the new State Advisory Council for Early Care and Education support access for young children in immigrant families?
